Diabetes 360º: Competence and Safety in Clinical Practice

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases of the 21st century, with a growing impact on public health and daily clinical practice. Caring for people with diabetes requires a solid understanding of its pathophysiology, the multiple forms of clinical presentation and the metabolic and systemic implications that influence prognosis. The complexity of the disease, combined with the need for quick, safe and evidence-based decisions, makes it essential to have structured training that enables professionals to intervene in different contexts and throughout the therapeutic journey.

Scientific and technological developments in the field of diabetology have been particularly rapid, from the introduction of new pharmacological classes to recent continuous monitoring tools and solutions supported by artificial intelligence. These advances broaden therapeutic possibilities, but also require constant updating of technical and clinical skills. Professional practice, whether in nutrition, nursing, psychology, medicine or clinical practice, today requires an integrated mastery of these resources, capable of ensuring informed decisions, personalization of care and consistent improvement in health outcomes.

The DIABETES 360º: Competence and Safety in Clinical Practice course is designed to meet these demands, offering a comprehensive, rigorous and eminently practical approach. Structured by an experienced and multidisciplinary faculty, it combines essential theoretical foundations, critical review of evidence, exploration of new technologies and practical application in real-life scenarios. The aim is to train more prepared, confident and technically competent professionals, capable of promoting safe, humanized and effective care for people with diabetes, at any stage of their clinical journey.

OBJECTIVES

  Understand the definition, classification, etiology and risk factors of diabetes mellitus;
  Identify the main signs, symptoms and acute and chronic complications of the disease;
  Know the pharmacological therapeutic options, including oral antidiabetics, insulins and the new drugs available;

  Integrate multi-professional care strategies, recognizing the role of nurses and psychologists in therapeutic adherence and support for people with diabetes;
  Recognize the importance of prescribing physical exercise in an individualized and safe manner, taking into account the physiological and clinical specificities associated with each type of diabetes.
