Get to know the Espregueira Clinic Academy
Academia Clínica Espregueira [ACE], formerly Academia Clínica do Dragão, was created to expand the scientific, training and educational activities of the Espregueira Clinics - FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.
Who We Are
By definition, the Academia Clínica Espregueira is a physical and virtual platform for teaching the different areas of medicine and rehabilitation dedicated to sports and physical activity, promoting training and education activities that privilege scientific and technological advances, the training of technical and scientific staff in the area of Medical and Health Sciences.
The Espregueira Clinical Academy bases its quality on the health professionals that make up the group's clinical teams who, in addition to the clinical services they provide, also carry out scientific research and teaching activities in a university setting. Additionally, for many years they have been receiving clinicians from all over the world for internships or scholarships, namely ESSKA, ISAKOS, and other international societies. ACE seeks to optimize teaching and training of a postgraduate nature, which has been taking place for more than 90 years, in offices, operating rooms, hospitals, and classrooms.
Espregueira Clinic Conference
In the most recent history, we mark February 2, 2013, when, in the VIP Tribune of Estádio do Dragão, we welcomed more than 500 people in the 1st edition of the Atlantic Health Conference with the support of FC Porto and the University of Lyon, France. The Journeys continue until today, now with the name Journeys of the Espregueira Clinics. Subsequently, different courses took place, supported by scientific evidence, good practices and the latest technical and technological innovations, such as:

Collaborations and partners
In our extension to university activities, especially in the post-graduate offer, we collaborated in the past with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and currently with the Católica Porto Business School and the Nova Medical School. Supported by the legacy of courses that have been developed, as well as the main scientific and/or related professional areas, we are currently organized in four areas of professional training certified by DGERT, in both on-site and distance learning systems:

Today, for the development of its training activities, ACE is proud of the collaboration of the clinical staff of the Espregueira Clinics - FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence - Porto, which has achieved accreditation as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence - first in the Iberian Peninsula and the only one in Portugal, as an official center of ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy), of ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine) and of ICRS (International Society for Cartilage Regeneration and Joint Preservation). Internationally, we are privileged to benefit from the pedagogical contributions of Professors from Harvard University, McMaster University, University College of London, La Trobe University and other great and secular educational institutions that indelibly mark the history of the world itself and, with it, the advancement of science, technique and technology.
