Advanced course: Low Fodmap diet

Welcome to a comprehensive course on Fodmap (Fermentables, Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols). You are about to embark on a journey of knowledge that will deepen and help you understand the impact of FODMAPs on the body and how they affect digestive health. If you're wondering what the FODMAP diet is, or more strictly, the low-FODMAP diet, and how to benefit your patients/clients with a nutritional and dietary intervention in this context, this course is calling out to you, for your sense of responsibility and determination to develop your professional practice in a safer and more effective way. Discover the world of Fodmap.

During our course, we will unravel the scientificity and technicality of Fodmap in three key stages. First, you will learn about elimination, an initial process that helps identify the Fodmap-rich foods that should be avoided to relieve uncomfortable and undesirable gastrointestinal symptoms. Next, we'll take a step-by-step approach to reintroduction, allowing your patients/clients to identify exactly which specific Fodmap foods may be causing their symptoms, personalizing and improving their dietary approach. Finally, we will provide valuable guidance on how to adapt the patient/client's diet to incorporate the knowledge acquired in a sustainable way into people's daily lives.

This course aims to update and empower nutritionists with the knowledge and skills needed to prescribe and monitor the low Fodmap approach. Given the growing literacy about gastrointestinal problems and the increasing number of people diagnosed, and given estimates that point to more than 1 million people affected, the demand for personalized solutions is urgent. This course enables professionals to develop the behaviors, knowledge and skills to manage their patients/clients with confidence, promoting measures to relieve symptoms and improve quality of life.
